Well, we have been staying busy as usual but I thought I would post a few pictures of our latest adventures. Some of you may know that Julian was raising Painted Lady Butterflies in a netted habitat. We received the caterpillars by mail and were able to watch as they made their cocoons. We then transferred the cocoons into the butterfly habit so they could emerge and be able to fly around. It was a really neat process and Julian really enjoyed it!! Once the butterflies came out of the cocoon, we fed them by soaking fresh flowers in a mixture of sugar and water and placing them in the bottom of the habitat. Just in case anyone was curious, butterflies have extremely long tongues that allow them to sip the water from the flowers!! The pictures below are of us releasing them into our front yard.
The other pics are just random and from our visit to the pool at the Beachcomber Hotel while our friends Jason and Danielle were visiting from North Carolina! Good times!!
